PCH Trip Day 4

We left the hotel around 7am on a Friday morning, got some breakfast at mickey d's and headed on down the 1. The morning drive was most beautiful along the coast and the road provided plenty of picture opportunities. Note to self: I must stay in the town of Elk next time I do this trip.

The first stop of the day was at Manchester Beach State Park. The morning air was cold so we didn't stay long just wanted to get out of the car for a moment and have a look around the area. This park also happens to be the nesting place of the snowy plover but I didn't see any of the birds while I was there.
A little farther down the road our next stop was at Point Arena Lighthouse. We arrived an hour before the museum opened but touring the place wasn't something I cared to do anyways. Just wanted to get some pictures.
Somewhere along the curves and the hills I had a elk run out in front of Atori. Luckily I was going extremely show (taking a hairpin curve) and was able to avoid hitting the elk without slamming on my breaks.
Before heading across the Golden Gate Bridge and into San Fransisco I made a quick stop at Horseshoe Bay to get some more pictures.

After crossing over the Golden Gate Bridge and driving into San Fransisco I found my way at Lombard st, the hill going up to Lombard was fun driving up but not as fun as driving down Lombard. I didn't get any pictures of Atori here but I did take a video which I'll post in the next entry. Our room for the two nights stay in San Fransisco was at the Argonaut Hotel which was located right off of Fisherman's Wharf. I loved this hotel and would stay here again.
After checking in and unpacking sis and I headed over to Fisherman's Wharf to see the sea lions and have lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
My lunch was the Shrimp Po' Boy, yum.
After lunch we headed over to Larkin st and over to Ghirardelli Square for dessert. I don't remember what I ordered but it was simply delightful.
Later in the day we took one of those sightseeing bus tours around downtown. It was nice seeing the city but I'm not really sure if it was worth the money we spent.
