Tubac car show and southern arizona winery drive

On 1/23/10 we went on a fun drive with my mini cooper club. At 7am we met up with 5 other Desert Rat Pack members at the local Starbucks in Chandler and the 6 of us headed down the I-10 towards Tucson. Once we got into Tucson we stopped at the Home Depot parking lot off of Irvington Road and meet up with some of the MadMen chapter members. From there the group headed south on the I-19 to the little town of Tubac and stopped for a few hours to see a car show, did some shopping and had lunch.

We walked around and had a blast looking and/or making fun of some of the cars. My favorite car....er....the one we laugh about the most was the Wedge (just look at the pictures below and you'll understand why). After looking at the cars a small group of us headed back to the parking lot and drove around town until we found parking at a restaurant so we could leave our cars and view some of the shops. My sister bought this cute hand panted owl and I bought a scarf (It was cold outside).

Lunch was at the Artist's Palate, 19 of us stayed for lunch. My sister and I both had the taco salad which was really good. After lunch we said goodbye to a few member who weren't feeling good and a few others who just wanted to head home. So 7 minis headed on to Nogales and made our way up on the 82 over to Sonoita. At Sonoita we stopped at a gas station for a little rest from driving. A few members had a snow ball fight and a few others made some mini showmen. There wasn't alot of snow on the ground.

From Sonoita 6 minis headed over to Elgin for some wine tasting. Our first vineyard stop was at Kief-Joshua. I bought some red wine called 2008 Tempranillo. Our second and last stop was at Sonoita Vineyards, this time I bought a white wine called Arizona Sunset.

Had a blast!
