Got invited to an off-roading drive again, this time in Sedona (8-27-11). I believe this was one of the most beautiful drives that I have been on.

Atori went to his forth ball game today this time the D-backs vs the Mets. A very exciting game and the D-backs won.

Oak Creek Canyon Run
Yesterday was the last day of July and also DMC’s Oak Creek Canyon fun run. It seems like it has been months since I last went to a DMC driving event so it was nice to get on the road again with the club.
The morning started off with everyone meeting at a Starbucks on Happy Valley road. I bought a tall mocha to drink and a friend of ours gave my sister and I a big bag full of blueberries. I can’t wait to try them. After a quick drivers meeting the group (17 MINIs in total) started the drive up the 17 north over to 179. The 179 is such a beautiful drive, I love the red rock and the cooler weather was very welcoming. Along the 179 there was a deer carcass along the side of the road and I have to add this was the biggest carcass I have ever seen. Anyways moving on, the group made a small stop at a gas station just outside of Sedona, nice little break before the upcoming roundabouts. I must add at this point that I do like roundabouts, just not 10 of them in a row when there is lots of traffic and one is trying to follow the car in-front of them.
The drive up 89A was simply amazing. With everything being so green and seeing all of the trees I almost felt like I was back in IL, until I looked up and saw the Canyon above. Such a beautiful drive and even more so with 17 MINIs driving in a row.
We made it to Flagstaff before 1pm for lunch. By the time everyone got done eating a little rain storm passed over head. After lunch about half of the MINIs jumped onto the I-17 and headed home. Sis and I decided to head back the way we came with 6 others. It was just to pretty of a drive to not go on again.
(yes my windshield is crack as you can see in my pictures)
