Lets Motor to Jerome 9/19/09
Yesterday was the DRP (Desert Rat Pack) annual meeting and fun run to Jerome AZ. Yes this is the mini cooper club that I joined and I'm sure some of you might have already seen this posted in my sisters lj or pictures posted on my facebook.
Yesterday my day stared at 5:30 am and at 6:10 my sister and I meet another club member at the dunkin donuts located on Mill Ave for some wake up coffee. Then we made our way to the shell gas station in Wickenburg to meet with the rest of the mini club at 8am. 19 minis showed up and after the short meeting we got into our minis and made our way into Prescott. At Prescott we stopped at the Safeway to regroup (since people drive at different speeds) and for a bathroom break for those who needed it. Also the 20th mini joined our group at this time. There was also a Corvette car show going on in Prescott so we got to see a lot of Corvettes.
From Prescott we headed onto Jerome. The road up to Jerome is so much fun, full of curves, so much fun driving in a mini. After parking in Jerome the whole club had lunch at the Haunted Hamburger then we spent a few hours walking around and looking at the different shops.
At 2pm we said our goodbyes to some of the members and the rest of us drove to a Dairy Queen in Camp Verde for some ice cream. After ice cream we said our final goodbyes and everyone headed home. Coming home I followed three other minis into phoenix then my sister and I stopped by my grandmothers place for dinner. I really did have such a fun drive, I can't wait until the next one.

Ice cream 9/13/09
Tonight Heather and I joined up with the mini motoring club for some Ice cream and socializing at the Baskin Robins at Southern and McClintock in Tempe Az. 17 MINI Coopers were there and it was a nice night, having a chilled iced mocha while drooling over all the MINIS. And I got to see a MINI GP. Only 400 were imported into the USA. Pretty rare minis.
Anyways, here are some photos. Our mini is the chili red with white top/mirrors, white bonnet stripes pictured in the 3rd photo. The chili red in the first photo is not ours. lol, I'm slowly turning into a petrol head. who would have guessed
